Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province, Donghae City and GS signed a business agreement for an AI data centre campus on a 231,000 sqm parcel at the Bukpyeong 2 General Industrial Complex: 1.2GW targeted operational in 2028 and a further 1.2GW in 2029, with a stated 30 trillion won (about US$19.9bn) investment. GS is to use nearby existing power infrastructure that is reported to be running at about 30 percent of capacity because of transmission expansion delays.
